First Ride of 2010

I finally got my first ride in for this new year. A beautiful Sunday ride with the TWBC. We began in South Tacoma on Pacific Ave (hwy 7 just off SR 512). We had a foggy start but the sun finally came out as we crested the Tacoma Narrows Bridge. It was a great ride with beautiful scenery along the way. And a great lunch break in Gig Harbor.

Before we began our ride our ride leader Sue gives us instructions.
22 riders showed up today.

Tacoma Narrows Bridge this morning in the fog.

We broke through the fog just over the crest on the Narrows bridge.
This shot is looking back at the fog bank we just came through.

Tides Tavern and Restaurant in Gig Harber where we stopped for a lunch
break. I had the 2 piece halibut and fries. Delicious!
Shot from the Tacoma Narrows Bridge on our return to Tacoma.

Fog is gone! Great ride. 40 miles.

I see you're having a rough winter back in Ohio. Think spring, it should be here soon! I look forward to reading all about your first ride for 2010!

And I also see that you are a sponsored rider this year, so awesome! Here's to a successful, healthy, and ride filled 2010 Mike!

I recently found your blog and find it really inspiring! I'm a fairly new biker and I just went out on my longest ride yesterday, which was 20 miles. I've got a (probably dumb) question for you: Where do you keep your camera while you ride? I keep mine in a little saddle bag, but it's not really all that easily accessible.

Sue sorry it took me so long to reply. I haven't been keeping up with my blog for the past few months. But spring is finally here and I'm back on my bike. Trying to get back in shape for a new season. Regarding where I carry my camera . . . in the back pocket of my riding jersey inside a sandwich baggy other wise it gets wet from sweat. And sometimes I take along my waist pack and place the camera in there. Welcome to biking! :)
