MS 150 September 8 & 9, 2007

My daughter and I are participating in this year's MS 150 ride on September 8th and 9th. If you would like to make a donation we would greatly appreciate it! The ride will be held in beautiful LaConner, Washington. I will give a report, with pictures included, after our ride. I will post it on my web site.

Thank you!

What time do you get home from work on weekdays? Maybe we can do the Sky Island, Orting, South Prairie, Buckley, and back to Bonney Lake route the week I get back from vacation.

4:00 is the earliest that I could actually be out the door for riding. And since that’s a little late to start a 3 hour ride, it’s probably not a good time to go on that route. I usually make those long rides (for me) on a weekend day. Sorry. But we’ll figure out something, I’m sure.
Saturday I pedaled early to beat the rain and humidity, and rode out to Buckley and back, going out on Locust and then Old Buckley. I could tell I’ve haven’t been putting in the miles lately. But I felt stronger as the ride progressed on the returned leg. Strange how that worked out. I was probably a little stiff from two days of hard spinning. Friday I was riding with a group up and around Boulder Colorado. Gezz those guys can climb hills! But when it’s on DVD. I can always keep up! :-)
Hope you are enjoying your vacation.

I'm looking at my calendar. And the weekend after our vacation is August 11 and 12. On the 12th I am riding in the TRYBR and on the 11th Joe and I are doing a mountain bike ride with two friends. The 18th we have a Mariners game. Hmmmmmm maybe the 19th?

Where is my summer going? The weather this past week (and weekend) have been terrible. What ever happened to "After the Fourth we have beautiful sunny weather?" Mother Nature broke the rule this summer! She has thrown us a curve!

I did not get a ride in this weekend. :( First time in 3 months! I did go to a spin class on Saturday morning with daughter and hubby though.

Thursday I will be working the sandwich line for the RAMROD. I am stationed one mile past Greenwater on the left at the fire station. Should be interesting. I get a free t-shirt for helping and a jersey. They also offered a "free pass/entry" for next year's RAMROD or I can do the Whimprod the last weekend in August. It's the RAMROD course but done in two days. It's for all volunteers. I may do it. I did ride the RAMROD in 2004 and always wanted to help with the event. I try to help at events I've rode in.

Saturday we leave for our family vacation. Joe, the kids and I are excited about our vacation to Glacier National Park. Mountain biking, hiking, white water rafting, and just relaxing. Before we return we are stopping in Havre to visit his mom for her 89th birthday.

So, when is the sun supposed to return?

The 19th sounds good. Let’s pencil that in for a ride.
So you are going to see the M’s play the Chicago White Sox huh?
Hope you got your sign demanding for Mike Blowers to give you some Rally Fries.
I got my Mariners shirt on right now in fact.

I plan to ride this afternoon after work, weather permitting. Will go past your house to 214th, then up past Snag Is. Then right onto Lk Tapps- Buckley Rd to Old Buckley, then back to Connell Prairie and on to home. Just build up some miles again.

So what distance you plan on doing for the TRYBR ?
I looked it up and it sounds like a nice ride. I’ve never been in that area.
If I went, I would probably do either the 30 or 50 mile ride.

WIMPROD huh ? From the sounds of it you are anything but a WIMP!
If it’s anything like the Chelan ride I just did. It’s a lot of work.
There were a number of riders with RAMROD jerseys at the Chelan ride and they were Fit For Bear. Regular climbing fools. Sounds like you will be in your element though.

If I got paid what the weatherman got paid for being 50% right in my forecast…
OH GEZZ! Please mister wizard. Let me please be a weatherman!
It’s forecast to be nice the rest of the week. So I’m going to take advantage and ride my big butt off.
I believe it’s going to rain in Montana though. But that’s just my 50%.

Have a fun trip!

Wow! I see blue skies and sunshine outside of my window this morning! It's amazing how a gorgeous day like this can brighten your outlook so much. There is also a nice breeze as I hear the leaves rustling too.

Yep, definitely a cycling day. My daughter will be home at 1:00 PM and yelled at me as she was going out the door, "Mom be ready for a ride when I get home this afternoon!" I think we'll go out the door past Alan York, past Emerald Hills School turn left at the traffic light and get onto Sumner Tapps Hwy E. and go down the hill into Sumner then continue under 410 and take the back roads into Orting. Past River Side Park, maybe turn around there, and perhaps pedal back up 410? Or maybe just continue to South Prairie and Buckley and back. It will depend on what my daughter wants to ride. She's picky as she hates downhills! She crashed once very hard going down a steep hill. She got a flat and just lost it at 30 mph. So we'll have to see. She loves to climb but now she won't go past 20 mph on any downhill. Maybe we'll just go to Buckley and back from the house. That's pretty flat. No steep hills.

My daughter would do that! Make a sign asking for Rally Fries. Please don't give her any ideas! LOL

I would love to do the 80 mile route on the TRYBR but my husband is so out of shape. He hasn't been riding like my daughter and I. He needs to lose about 60+ pounds. He won't tell me how much he's gained. We went for a ride 3 weekends ago and he was finished after 30 miles. I nearly killed him on the Peninsula Metric ride. He couldn't finish and caught the sag wagon and waited for me at the finish. So probably the 30 (maybe the 50 if I can talk him into it!)

I was thinking bad thoughts about the weatherman yesterday! But today all is forgiven. Plese NO rain in Montana!

Ok the 19th of August. Enjoy your ride this afternoon! Today is absolutely P E R F E C T for a bicycle ride! I can't wait for Jackie to get home at 1:00!

Sounds like your husband and I eat at the same Boeing cafeteria.
I wish I rode my bike in today. But it was still cold and wet at 5:30 this morning. I'll just have to make up for it this afternoon.
Watched a M's game last week. A group of 12 or so were waving 4 foot foam fries at the camera every chance they got. They all got rally fries. Very amusing.

Enjoy the ride!
